We are currently looking for an IT Platform Engineer to join our growing team! As an IT Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the business intelligence and analytics platform in Google cloud. This will require development of various services but not limited to: virtual private clouds, compute and storage services to host various applications, and development of this platform to ensure it meets the requirements of the business. This platform will need to be secure, scalable, performant, and robust.
As an IT Platform Engineer, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Familiar with infrastructure as code automation technologies to build and deploy both infrastructure and applications (i.e., Terraform, Ansible)
- Troubleshooting across storage and compute areas to determine optimal performance
- Proficient in handling CI/CD integrations with GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins and deploying infrastructure and applications on GCP
- Create and maintain documents for procedures/processes and infrastructure architecture/topology diagrams
- Stay current with advances in technologies; recommend change and updates accordingly
- Identify areas of improvement and proactively develops plans to improve infrastructure architecture
- Work with streaming data applications
- Knowledge of containers and their orchestration
- Build re-usable code, components and services that incorporate versioning, reconciliation, and exception handling
- communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter and capable individual contributor with little supervision needed
WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Computer Science followed by 8+ years of experience designing, building, and supporting real-time and batch data pipeline and analytical solutions with Hadoop (Hive, Kafka, Spark, Spark Streaming, Hbase, ), Teradata, ETL tools like Informatica, Talend, Python/shell scripting/Java, Oracle/Exadata
- 3+ years of Hands-on experience in experience in GCP services such as Data Fusion, Cloud Composer, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Dataproc, GKE, Data Fusion, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, CloudSQL, Firestore, GCS, IAM and Compute Engine
- Experience Hadoop cluster creation and management
- Experience with IaC such as Terraform
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, start-up culture
- Telecom experience desired
