Job description
Aquaspira manufacture a range of flexible Composite Steel Reinforced (CSR) pipes and custom fabricated units for the construction, transport and utilities sector. We supply the UK market from our manufacturing facility based in Nelson in Lancashire, making large pipes ranging from 600mm to 2250mm in diameter. We are looking to recruit a plastic fabricator and a number of production operatives to join our manufacturing team.
Plastic Fabricator
£14.00 per hour / £ 29,120 per year : Senior Fabricator (07.00 – 15.30 Monday-Friday)
We are strengthening our internal HDPE plastic fabrication team and have a vacancy for a senior fabricator.
Safety and Quality are the priority at Aquaspira and both elements are embedded into our operating processes and working practices. The primary function of the senior fabricator is to work with a small team following detailed technical drawings cutting and welding from our base HDPE/steel pipe materials constructing custom specification pipes, fittings, tanks and manifolds. This is a hands-on shop-floor based role involving the coordination of projects, HDPE welding and assembly of large composite parts. The ability to read and manufacture to drawings, work to tight deadlines and use small hand tools is essential, specific HDPE plastic substrate training will be provided.
Production Operatives
2 x Shift Operators (Rotating 06.00-14.30 then 14.00-22.30 or dedicated night shift)
Start pay = £11.00 per hour / £22,880 per year + incremental skills related pay / night shift premium
These are varied positions and rotate across our key production areas, full training will be provided. The main areas of responsibility will be:
Ensure Health and Safety standards are maintained and adhered to at all times.
To be trained to oversee the operation of a production line.
To be trained in pipe joint manufacturing and pipe joint fitting.
Understand standard production processes and react to deviations.
Work to daily production targets / Keep working areas clean and ordered.
Physically fit and capable of handling manual tasks and the use of small hand tools / power tools.
Experience of working in a factory / manual processing environment is advantageous. Having a flexible can do attitude and working energetically is essential.
