Northern Ireland Electricity Networks (NIE Networks) is the owner of the electricity transmission and distribution networks in Northern Ireland, transporting electricity to over 910,000 customers including homes, businesses and farms.
We are delighted to be able to offer excellent job opportunities for Plant Maintenance Fitters to join NIE Networks. The successful applicants will be based across our three main Depots in our East Depot (Belfast), South Depot (Craigavon/Omagh) and North Depot (Ballymena/Campsie) however will be required to work throughout Northern Ireland as required. The successful applicants will also be required to participate on a stand-by rota.
The primary role will involve the completion of maintenance, refurbishment, construction and decommissioning of all equipment within transmission and distribution substations and street furniture.
The maintenance and refurbishment covers a wide range of switchgear and transformers, basic electrical installation and and substation inspections on equipment operating at voltages between 230 volts – 275,000 Volts.
Construction will include the installation of ground mounted equipment, installation of steel structures and high-level structure mounted equipment, cable sealing ends, switchgear, transformers, busbars, relay / control panels and associated equipment in substations operating at up to 275,000 Volts.
