Job description
To assist the trained staff to care for patients while attending the endoscopy unit. You will receive great support to develop in this role and to be able to gain skills to support you should you want to go higher in healthcare.
You will assist with observations, serving refreshments and ensuring the patients are comfortable while with us. This involves making beds and positively welcoming the patient to the ward and showing them to their pods.
You will be working with an exceptional team in a unit which is JAG accredited. We embraced diversity and display the Trust values at all times.
- As a member of the multidisciplinary team the post holder will contribute to the delivery of patients’ individual care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.
- To work under the supervision of nurses to turn the PODS – individual rooms for patients having procedures in the department. This is to ensure beds and facilities are cleansed between patients.
- To provide refreshments to patients following procedures as indicated.
- Supports registered nurses in the provision of a safe and caring environment.
- To practice in accordance with Trust standards and statutory requirements and operate within the boundaries of the role and assessed competencies.
- The Nursing Assistant has the opportunity to develop within the role.
- Further training and development in assisting nurses in the department.
- To act as a role model for student nurses and colleagues.
