Planning Engineer

British Airways Engineering Wales is home to BA’s world class engineering team, and we would like to welcome applications for our latest Planning Engineer role within our British Airways Maintenance Cardiff (BAMC) business.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a skilled and experienced Operations Support team supporting BAMC planning activities, providing a sequenced plan of work and corresponding work pack required for an input. Providing achievable resource requirements within budget and understanding maintenance networks.
Working closely with all areas of the Operations Support team to deliver the following:
- Support to Planning Engineer L2 with SAP and Primavera maintenance networks to be able to deputise as required.
- Provide BAMC Production Control and the customer with pre-input planning activities, pre-input material review, manage planned load to finance plan, check planning administration and SAP compliance management.
- Leading the BAMC Planning process with the key stakeholders and ensure all risks and critical elements are identified and mitigated prior to an input commencing at BAMC.
- Produce check plans and timelines to ensure they are realistic and that there are sufficient resources across the business to meet the customer’s downtime requirements.
- Review, asses risk, manage and accept the list of work changes from the customer.
- Assist in business reporting and operational communications as required.
- Support Check Packaging administration when required, including auditing of work packs.
- Understand and adhere to departmental procedures.
- Deputise for the Planning Engineer L2 and carry out any other duties within their competencies as required.
- Support other departments as operationally required.

We will also need you to have the following qualifications/experience:
- Minimum 5 GCSEs at grade C or above in English and Mathematics.
- HNC/ Aircraft maintenance apprenticeship or equivalent.
- City and Guilds 2597.
- Broad understanding of aircraft maintenance.
- Primavera or Microsoft Project desirable.
- Leadership or Project Management qualification desirable.
- Knowledge of SAP database & Network management.
- Detailed knowledge of SAP planning transactions.
- Detailed knowledge of resources application, scheduling, levelling and reporting.
