Job description
Planning Consultant.
Bury St Edmunds (Hybrid)
£40k+++
This job is open to all levels of experienced town planners with more than three years experience
A stone throw from the Abbey in IP33 you’ll find a large team of hugely successful consultants with big aspirations. Amongst them is this key role: an ideal move for an ambitious town planner or senior who wants to share their experience with others and help turn a small, successful and fairly new town planning arm into something potentially much, much bigger.
Where you fit in
You’ll join Wilson Wraight, an independent practice and highly respected Agricultural Management Consultancy with around 30 staff. WW is ideally sized: large enough to offer unrivalled training, personal development and access to some of the most sought-after clients today,
allowing us to work with some of the most prestigious land owners in the UK, but small enough for you to make an individual impact and know daily that what you contribute is critical to the business and our success.
That’s especially so in our established Bury St Edmunds office, a beautiful grade II listed building where we’re fast getting to know the local community, winning repeat business, and elevating our game, working on an interesting mix of projects delivered from our new Planning team set up earlier this year.
We work in an open-minded, open-plan environment – our partners sit amongst the team, the majority of whom are working their way up having joined us many years ago so we like to think we’re on to something in the world of developing people.
Whilst investing in fresh talent is a huge part of our ethos, we need an injection of experience to help us really flourish and grow the planning team – and that’s where you come in...
Scope to grow
You’ll support Dan, the planning lead, taking on some of our tougher challenges and becoming a valuable mentor and guide to our future junior planners, You’ll not only be growing yourself, developing valuable leadership and technical skills, but also freeing up Dan to work more strategically, helping the new team to reaches its potential, faster – for which we reward very handsomely plus bonus.
It may be a challenge here early on, it’s a new arm in an existing but thriving business, so we know what hard work already looks like, luckily our partners will be on hand to guide you through the tricky bits but there may be days when your sleeves may be better rolled up than down.
Your experience
We’re open minded about your current role. You could be working in either consultancy or Local Authority, maybe a mix of both, but what’s important is that you have a wealth of planning related experience and that you’re ready to share it with us. Whether you’re with a smaller firm or looking to escape a more corporate environment, it’s vital that you enjoy thinking outside the box, exploring different ideas, offering new and innovative solutions for our clients.
Find out more
We’re people first though, and committed to continual CPD, both in terms of time and money, you can expect to broaden your technical knowledge and gain qualifications and experience at a fast rate not only in planning but across agricultural management and business relationships.
To find out more about us, why not see https://www.sbr.agency/ww or get in touch with our retained consultant Skott Bentley to register your interest – he’ll take things from there.
Don’t worry about the CV just yet, we will know it when we speak and we respond to all applicants personally.
