Planner/Buyer is required for permanent employment in a Global based manufacturing company in Kenfig Industrial Estate near Port Talbot.
The right candidate will be expected to perform purchasing and planning functions, ensure all tasks are achieved to required standards and maintain a professional and reliable service in the supplier facing role and to internal stakeholders
Salary = £30,000
Monday - Friday 37.5hrs per week 09.00-5.00pm
Own transport is required as site is not near any major transport links.
- Proactive, self-starter who is comfortable working on own initiative. To succeed, you must be numerate, computer literate and have an attention to detail. The ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines is essential.
- Preferable experience within a high volume manufacturing sector
- Preferable experience of working with planning within ERP systems
- Enthusiastic and professional individual who enjoys being part of a successful team with the ability to build and develop excellent internal and external relationships.
- Strong team working ethic, comfortable working alongside colleagues in supporting functions. Ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.
- Self-motivated, reliable, dedicated, hardworking, conscientious and flexible.
- Creating purchase orders based on planning requirements and Engineering spares requirements
- Act as single point of contact for suppliers to ensure on time deliveries, maintain supplier relationships and monitor / communicate price changes
- Maintain professionalism as supplier facing department, ensure utmost accuracy and quality of work produced
- Liaise with Sales team, Warehouse and Production for planning purposes
- Appraise new potential suppliers, cost price analysis to identify potential savings
- Liaise with Quality and Finance departments for suppliers and materials / goods set up and additions into quality controlled systems
- Resolve issues in supply chain when occurring
- Inventory planning in ERP system based on customer forecasts
- Reporting – KPI’s and performance for various systems
- Materials sourcing including Raw Materials / Packaging / Engineering spares
- Maintenance of the Engineering spares system
- Regular review of stocks min/max and EOQ’s for purchasing and production planning
- Liaison to Divisional Purchasing leads to implement purchasing projects at site level
- Attend daily / weekly planning meetings
- To comply with reasonable requests from management
- Other ad hoc duties as allocated
