Petroineos Refining and Trading is one of the largest independent refiners trading in Europe. We are currently recruiting for a Planner from a Instrument & Electrical discipline to join our Maintenance Team on a permanent basis.

Purpose of Role

The role of the Planner is to challenge, verify and undertake all pre-engineering requirements for any emergent asset scope as well as time based maintenance scope and executing the required quality assurance after the work is undertaken.

In addition, the Planner is responsible for maintaining the data held within the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) ensuring backlog levels are managed and priority work is undertaken, whilst reporting a defined suite of KPI’s to communicate the health of the maintenance planning function.

Key Accountabilities

  • Actively engage with the Maintenance Planning process keeping all key stakeholders up to speed with high priority work fronts throughout the life cycle of the work order and simultaneously ensuring an appropriate volume of work is flowing to the scheduler
  • Challenge and progress/reject and own all emergent service requests/work orders ensuring accuracy and fullness of data
  • Actively participate in the technical appraisal of new and emergent Work Orders & Service Requests to diagnose remediation scope in conjunction with Operations representative ensuring Scoping Sheet is completed
  • Produce a new work pack incorporating the Scoping Sheet data and any other information required for all works to be executed and route accordingly where required
  • Produce DJR element to capture the flanges disturbed during the activity
  • Carry out a second level supervision for all activities carried out in their asset including contractor scopes
  • Carry out all post activity QA to ensure an appropriate level of assurance is gained before recommissioning of equipment, including punching where required
  • Assess, challenge and verify all contractor RAMS to ensure they meet the standard expected
  • Responsible for ensuring all new third party permit builders are verified as working to the correct standard.
  • Responsible for owning and driving the inspection meeting and ensuring all statutory requirements are communicated and executed 3 months ahead of due date
  • Responsible for owning and driving compliance for scope whether executed by the asset techs or otherwise
  • Responsible for swift and appropriate remediation of all Rime 1 and 2 work scopes within the expected timeframe
  • Responsible for gaining third party (term and otherwise) estimates and ensuring the company is gaining value for money and that estimates are costed as per the framework agreement
  • Carry out a suitable and sufficient risk assessment all Maintenance activities (which may include Task Based Risk Assessments) as well as build permits to first stage lock for all Engineering activities as well as for any non-term contractors
  • Accurately estimate all third party RIME 1’s using the Petroineos Estimator tool
  • Raise timeous delay and defects in compliance with the appropriate process as required
  • To monitor/control via CMMS, work requests, stores requisitions, equipment history, spares holding, failure reporting in order to facilitate the safe, smooth operation of the maintenance and planning systems
  • To assess routine material, spares and service requirements and to raise purchase requisitions, directly consulting catalogues, manufacturers, suppliers and Petroineos purchasing staff as necessary
  • Reporting of a suite of Maintenance KPI’s to understand and monitor the health of the Maintenance process.
  • Create ad-hoc, set piece plans for any large scale, large cost or unit limiting work fronts
  • Represent Maintenance in correspondence, weekly and monthly, with at least one contractor
  • Create and/or update Maintenance documentation where they are missing, where there are mistakes or there are omissions identified. A non-exhaustive list of examples of documentation may include but not limited to Overhaul Procedures, PM Procedures, Method Statements and Job Step Plans
  • Carry out preparedness assessment of all future work scopes as required taking appropriate action to close out issues as identified
  • Liaise with external suppliers and third parties to identify spare parts, drawings, specialist tooling to improve maintenance activity execution
  • Ensure that maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, permits and in compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Lead on set-pieces of work including, outages, slow-downs, Regens, Major Overhauls, etc

Education/Experience

  • Relevant Formal Apprenticeship
  • SVQ Level 3 in relevant subject
  • HNC in appropriate Engineering subject
  • An understanding of the maintenance workflow process and CMMS
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Proven self-starter with a bias for action
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • IT literate and proficient in computer systems
  • Knowledge of National and International standards in their maintenance discipline
  • Able to read and interpret Engineering drawings
  • Experience of Maximo CMMS would be beneficial
