About Our Client
My client is a world-leader in FMCG distribution across Europe. With over £2billion in turnover and over 1,500 sites across the world they are a giant in their sector. Over the last 24 months the client has been establishing a national distribution centre in Coalville, Leciestershire. The site will be over 1 million square foot and be home to over 1000 employees. The site will be the first fully automated distribution centre in the network and work primarily from Manhattan WMS software! You will be joining the business at an extremely exciting time!
Job Description
As a Warehouse Flow & Resource Planner you will report in the Warehouse Stock, Systems and Planning Manager in the Coalville site. You will be responsible for managing the successful automated product flow through the warehouse and be responsible for the following key areas:
- Managing the automated day-to-day operational product flows throughout the entire distribution centre
- Reviewing orders to ensure continual flow of products, identifying risks, issues, and mitigating these where possible whilst ensuring communication with the cross functional teams to resolve in a timely manner
- Working closely with the transport team to ensure timely order fulfilment in line with outbound transport planning
- Monitoring upcoming work for the team and providing an estimate of future resource requirements and constraints
- Working closely with the Maintenance team to identify planned and reactive maintenance ensuring successful order fulfilment, maximum utilisation of equipment and optimum efficiency of the site
- Providing key information of affected operational flows to the appointed colleagues during day-to-day shift operation
- Analysing and forecasting in-shift and short-term people requirements based on daily throughput
- Order Management across temperature zones ensuring synchronicity
- Wave releasing of work via the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Interface with NIT/Maintenance vendors on software updates
- Capacity planning including highlighting capacity shortfalls and optimising low & high-volume productivity
- Ability to investigate, analyse challenges and offer operational solutions (both manual and automated)
- Collaborating on internal operational documentation and processes as required
- Responsible for stock transfer when technical issues arise
The Successful Applicant
The successful Warehouse Flow & Resource Planner will have an enhanced background in warehousing automation, inventory and logistics. You will also be commutable to the Coalville area of Leciestershire:
- 3+ years experience in warehousing and logistics
- Automated logistics background
- Strong WMS skills - ideally Manhattan however any form of WCS, Red Praire, JDA, IWS, SAP, would be desirable
- Good technical expertise in inventory management, warehouse management or warehouse operations.
