Job details
Huntingdonshire is on a journey towards a better future. We want to create communities where everyone can thrive and there are opportunities for all. To do this, we need to work differently. We need to engage our residents, employers, and partners in designing the things they want together, to create the future they want. Can you play a part in this journey towards Huntingdonshire's future?
This is an opportunity for you to support our residents, communities and stakeholders; to help support the successful implementation of Huntingdonshire Futures, the Place Strategy for Huntingdonshire. Developed by the people for the people, Huntingdonshire Futures is a plan that will make Huntingdonshire a better place that people are drawn to, where they feel included and can aspire to something. The progression of Huntingdonshire Futures is part of the Corporate Plan, at the heart of enabling and influencing to deliver better outcomes for those who live, visit, study and work in Huntingdonshire.
If you are passionate about making a difference in your community, then this is the opportunity for you.
We need an excellent organiser and communicator to join the team, working with our residents and partners to take the first steps along the five Place Strategy journeys. You will be focused on coordinating and communicating the delivery of Huntingdonshire Futures. This will involve working and supporting a wide range of people from different backgrounds and roles to coordinate their plans and activities.
You will be responsible for:
supporting the project manager to drive the delivery of activities, events and projects
compiling progress reports and updates
the smooth coordination of plans and activities across the working groups, ensuring participants are informed and able to participate
working with our commissioned agency and the chairs of working groups to ensure group meetings and events are planned, have full attendance, are recorded with actions
promoting and publicising the activities of the working group, sharing with our community the progress being made and celebrating the impact of Huntingdonshire Futures
working with our commissioned agency and the council team to ensure a comprehensive communication plan and stakeholder management plan is implemented, promoting content to support the working groups
supporting the technical experts from the council and partner organisations in their role within the working groups
managing enquiries on behalf of the project, helping to sustain strong relationships with existing stakeholders and bringing new stakeholders into the process.
Experience of working with community groups or within the public sector would be advantageous but we are more interested in the energy and passion you can bring to drive forward a new way of working with the team. If you are not an exact match for the experience we are looking for but have the passion and experience of working with people and organising - we would love to get an application from you.
You will be managed by the Assistant Director of Strategic Insight and Delivery who is guiding the Huntingdonshire Futures Strategy through its next stages of implementation, and working closely with the Project Manager and Strategic Communications Manager.
This role is a temporary one-year post which is offered as a fixed-term contract and secondment opportunity.
