Main duties of the job
- To provide a courteous reception service to patients and clinicians in line with office procedures, contributing to the overall efficient and effective running of the unit.
- To work closely with nursing and medical staff to ensure that any issues in PITU are raised immediately to maintain an excellent level of service to patients.
- The post-holder will work as part of the Outpatient’s team, ensuring and efficient, high quality and timely service is provided. This includes providing a welcoming and professional service to patients when manning reception.
- To manage the booking of appointments for patients who required subsequent treatment as they leave the unit.
- The post-holder will perform general administrative duties such as admitting and discharging to the bedboard and checking patients in and out of their appointments.
- The post-holder will be in charge of preparing document packs for upcoming admissions.
- The post-holder will deal with incoming calls from patients and will also be in charge of appointment reminder calls.
- The post-holder will be required to cross-cover other Booking Co-Ordinators in case of Annual Leave or Sickness. Filing and recording on EDRM are tasks that could be included in this cover.

- Good general education, including x 5 GCSEs grade “C” or above
Experience

- Significant experience in a role which combines administration and working with the public, preferably in the NHS or similar.
