About the Role...
If you're passionate about Aircraft Structures with a strong experience in F&DT and Stress, and curious and keen to support technical investigations arising from in-service issues on our A300/A310 fleet of more than 270 in-service aircraft with over 35 operators, then this could be the right opportunity for you.
This is an exciting opportunity to join us as a A300/A310 Wing Lead F&DT and Stress Engineer, part of the A300/A310 Wing Structures Engineering team. This is a unique prospect to join a dynamic and diverse team working on engineering tasks directly within a Chief Engineers’ Office part of Customer Services Organisation, focused on delivering the best value for our customers.
Your primary role will be to support the A300/A310 Chief Engineers Office and ultimately the in-service fleet, reacting to operators’ requests & queries, as well as leading In-service occurrences investigations and supporting modifications and improvement projects. As the F&DT and Stress Engineer you will be responsible for providing support and delivery of approved design data in line with valid methods, processes and tools to the A300/A310 programme, in Time, Cost and Quality, working closely with F&DT and Stress signatories, as well as Airworthiness engineers, repair teams and external sub-contract companies as required.
You will have the opportunity to be involved in many different activities, to support your development, including F&DT, Static Stress and Design tasks.
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
Being the Focal point for allocated A300/A310 F&DT and Static Stress queries and support answers to operators queries and airworthiness authorities for specific tasks, repairs or production of spare parts
Be familiar with and update as required F&DT and Static Stress Calculations / Justification reports as a result of in-service queries, investigations, airworthiness requirement evolution or improvement initiatives.
Develop towards gaining delegated signatory for A300/A310 Wing F&DT and Static Stress.
Lead In-service Continued Airworthiness analyses
Be familiar with and support Design Tasks as required
Report critical technical issues to Chief Engineers' Office
About you...
You have working experience of Fatigue & Damage Tolerance primarily (experience in Static would be an advantage !) ideally on Wing In-Service projects and are able to rapidly, pragmatically and confidently understand F&DT and Static calculations and processes to support operator’s queries, and lead in-service investigations.
You are curious, open-minded, autonomous and excited about being involved in many varied tasks which you will lead or support. If you are not already a signatory, you will have the opportunity to develop towards obtaining delegated F&DT and Static Stress Signatory for A300/A310 Wing, with the support from experienced signatories.
The role requires excellent communication skills to regularly liaise with a wide range of stakeholders including alignment with Wing Static and F&DT teams on other Programmes, Local Stress Authority as well as other A300/A310 Static and F&DT teams in France and Germany to ensure a consistent approach is maintained.
