Job description
Tazaki Foods Ltd is currently recruiting for a Night Picker on a full time basis, to work Sunday to Friday from 21:00 to 06:00. The salary on offer is £25,000 plus 28 days holidays including bank holidays (increasing up to 35 days with length of service), pension auto enrolment with up to 5% Employer contribution, Life Assurance together with continuous developments and long term career prospects and social events throughout the year.
The Night Picker is responsible for working in the warehouse overnight, picking customers’ orders accurately and in a timely fashion in order to meet the required customer delivery schedules; correctly and neatly staging orders for delivery; assisting in the stock replenishment of the pick faces ensuring that stock is rotated properly at all times on a First-In/ First Out (FIFO) principle.
Key Tasks/ Responsibilities:
- To ensure orders are correctly picked and staged.
- To ensure orders are picked on time as requested.
- To work in both freezer and warehouse picking dependent on where the work is.
- To take health and safety into consideration always whilst using any of the machinery provided for picking.
- To assist in the stock replenishment of the pick faces ensuring that stock is rotated properly at all times on a First-In/ First Out (FIFO) principle .
- To assist in putting goods away in the racking.
- To assist in unloading containers and palletizing/re-palletizing goods for put away.
- To assist in moving palletized goods or other goods as required and in loading delivery vehicles.
- To notify management of any shelf-life or stock rotation problems as soon as identified.
- To assist in stock counts/checks as required.
- To assist the Stock Controller in identifying, segregating and recording damaged or out of date stock.
- To assist in any other warehouse duties as requested.
- To keep the warehouse tidy at all times.
- To respond as requested to meet the daily picking requirements of the business.
- To Pick product using the Scanner and to record any issues with stock or Best Before dates.
- To label goods as required.
- To return completed Pick Sheets to the appropriate person as soon as they are completed.
- Working with Technical Dept. accountable for all Food Safety, Legality and Hygiene matters in the company.
- To comply and enforce company policies and procedures to ensure food quality/ safety checks and paperwork are completed as per document requirements.
Key skills:
- Meticulous attention to detail combined with speed of work.
- Familiarity with computer-based WMS.
- System-led approach while showing initiative to fix system issues immediately and pro-actively.
Key Success measures:
- Accurate and efficient picking without errors.
- Perfect safety record.
- Accurate stock levels throughout the warehouse & a tidy warehouse.
