Assist Physiotherapists Therapists in the physiotherapy management of patients. This may be with individual patients and with groups of patients and includes;
1. Assisting the physiotherapist with individual physiotherapy treatments.
2. Providing physiotherapy treatments according to written protocol, the post holder may vary the treatments within the scope of the protocol.
3. Lead education groups.
4. The preparation and cleaning of equipment used by physiotherapists.
5. Input of patient contact data to the hospital computer system.
75% of the work is clinically related – the focus of this post is the rehabilitation of patients with a variety of conditions.

1. Assisting the State Registered Physiotherapist (SRP) with treatment as appropriate, to include handling and moving patients, dressing and undressing patients, and patient’s toilets needs during physiotherapy.
2. The application of treatments as planned and prescribed by the SRP for example leading a patient through a specific exercise regime which would have been demonstrated by the physiotherapist or the practise of functional activities such as walking and bed transfers.
3. The Band 3 can see a patient to initiate rehabilitation if deemed appropriate with the ward physiotherapist. They will liaise with the ward physiotherapist to update them on the patient following an intervention.
