Job description
The post is offered on a full time, or job share basis, the job plan being intended for full time appointment with an opportunity to modify this if the post is offered on any other basis.
The Trust requires you to have wide general training and experience in Histopathology. There will be overall Consultant supervision however the successful candidate will need to be capable of independent practice and reporting. Involvement in autopsy practice would be useful although it is not essential.
The post holder will be expected to undertake all histopathology laboratory duties including surgical cut up, attendance at MDT meetings and reporting of surgical biopsy and cytology material. Whilst there will be overall Consultant supervision it is expected that the post holder will be capable of independent practice including reporting of surgical specimens and non-gynae cytology.
The department has full UKAS accreditation and has training status for two Specialist Registrars and also Biomedical Scientists.
You should be fully registered with the GMC and hold a licence to practice.
