Urgent Care Ambulance Crew

NorWest Medical are delighted to announce due to expansion, we have new opportunities for Urgent Care staff to deliver NHS contract work and event work. We need a dynamic, creative, highly proactive person to join our team and drive the continuous development and improvement of all aspects of our clinical service delivery.

The post holder will provide emergency and urgent care, and will assist moving and handling patients who may be wheelchair-bound, using appropriate equipment where necessary e.g. carrying patients up the stairs using a carry chair, moving patients in and out of their homes onto a stationary vehicle, stretchers will also be used in certain instances. They will be operating part of a 2-person ambulance crew, ensuring we are working to the high company standards to ensure we fulfil our delivery of service. We want someone who will care passionately about our patients and wants a chance to show what they can really do. We need you to have experience of working in an ambulance care setting. It is expected you can maintain patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations and also be thorough whilst paying attention to detail. We are happy to consider candidates from a variety of healthcare backgrounds, but you will have to evidence all of the required competences and to show that you care about delivering a second to none service the way that we do.
There are a number of stages to our application process to give full opportunity for short-listed candidates to have the best opportunity to demonstrate their competence for the role, and to provide NorWest Medical the evidence required to appoint the right candidate for the position. These stages are set out below. At each stage you will be advised if you are to progress to the next stage.
Shortlisting and Interview Stages:
If you want to apply send a CV and cover letter explaining why you are the best person for the role - a maximum of 2 A4 pages for each document. We will notify you of an interview should you be successful at the shortlisting stage.
Interviews will take place by our panel soon after the shortlisting, and if successful you will be invited to an Induction Day followed by two on-boarding shifts where you will be assessed by one of senior crew members. The Induction Day and on-boarding shifts are paid at the usual hourly rate.
