We are looking for an Intern to join Bookmark for 3-months to support a range of teams in the delivery of our core volunteer-led reading programme and related literacy workstreams. Our paid internship provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in a purpose-led role. This role offers insights and experience across several roles including marketing, attraction, community engagement, account management, operational processes, administration and research. Salary: London Living Wage (£11.95 per hour) equating to £23,303 p.a. FTE

Job Description
This role will support a number of departments at Bookmark Reading Charity. Some of the tasks which this role will support are outlined below, however these are not exhaustive.
Volunteer recruitment, onboarding and engagement
- Support the delivery of Bookmark’s volunteer attraction strategy
- Support volunteer recruitment and onboarding in line with Bookmark’s Safer Recruitment Policy and procedures; including liaising with volunteers and referees, processing DBS checks, and organising and supporting volunteer interviews
- Support Volunteer Coordinators to ensure effective and timely support of volunteers; including liaising with volunteers and scheduling of volunteer check-ins
School onboarding and management
- Support the onboarding process for schools
- Support the School Relationship Managers in effective and efficient customer management of our partner schools Research, administration and operational excellence
- First line query handling, support and referrals for volunteers, schools, partners and other inbound communications
- Research and analysis of schools, corporations and other organisations, as required
- Collate, input and maintain accurate information on databases, including CRM and SharePoint Provide administrative support across the organisation, as required
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve Bookmark’s processes across all areas Ensure that all activity helps to build Bookmark’s brand and is always brand compliant
