Job description

Due to continued rapid expansion, we are looking for a talented mid-weight / senior web developer to join our fast-growing digital team.

ICAAL is an award winning full-service creative digital marketing agency, based in one of the few historic Grade II* Listed buildings in the old town of Southampton’s city centre.

Our stunning building offers versatile open plan space ideal for creative teams to enjoy their work. Our unique offices comprise a Georgian house structured around a Victorian chapel and a modern single storey extension overlooking the Mayflower Park with exceptional views.

Job Responsibilities

  • Estimate and deliver work on time and within budget
  • Specify technical requirements for projects, including researching 3rd party resources e.g. API documentation
  • Develop mobile responsive templates from PSD, XD, Sketch etc. using HTML, CSS (SASS), JS, Bootstrap/Tailwind
  • Develop interactive web applications using Laravel / PHP, such as CMS, / E-Commerce websites, CRM systems.
  • Fully test layout and script across all browsers
  • Manage and deliver client support tickets
  • Liaise with clients to fulfil requests and aid project progression

Essential Skills / Knowledge

  • PHP / Laravel
  • MySQL
  • HTML 5
  • CSS 3
  • JavaScript / jQuery
  • AJAX
  • Cross-browser compatibility
  • Version control e.g. Git
  • Experience using REST APIs (Google Maps, MailChimp etc.)

Advantageous Skills / Knowledge

  • Bespoke CMS development
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks e.g. Vue, Ember, Nuxt
  • Linux Server Administration, domain management, email configuration
  • AWS administration
  • Other MVC frameworks such as Ruby
  • WordPress
  • Experience using CSS frameworks (Tailwind, Bootstrap, Foundation etc.)
  • Experience with UX & UI design
  • Adobe CC (Ps & Ai in particular)
  • Familiarity with web prototyping tools (XD, InVision, Sketch, Figma etc.)

Required Experience

  • 3+ years demonstrable experience
