Hike SEO is a fast-growing technology company based in the Midlands. We have developed a software platform that supports small businesses to generate more organic traffic from Google, via the process of search engine optimisation (SEO). We currently have approx. 4000 customers from 70 different countries worldwide.

About the role

We are expanding our team and looking to recruit a highly skilled Laravel developer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PHP with a good understanding of Laravel as well as experience with frontend development.

Role Overview:

  • Working closely within our development team to successfully deliver new features and functionality
  • Help promote coding standards and best practices e.g. OOP, TDD and SOLID
  • Providing support and ongoing maintenance of key platforms
  • Work hard, be passionate about what you do and have fun while you're doing it.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong, demonstrable and commercial experience with PHP and Laravel.
  • Experience with frontend frameworks (e.g. Vue, React)
  • Knowledge and experience of APIs, RESTful services and Microservice Architectures
  • Familiar with testing technologies, methodologies and frameworks, or the passion and drive to learn them
  • Comfortable writing testable code
  • Experience working with agile methodologies
  • Happy to work across a range of products and switch between them while making progress

Nice to haves:

  • Familiarity with Google API’s (Analytics, Search Console, Google My Business, NLP)
  • Experience integrating Stripe (Including Stripe Connect)
  • Experience with devops and CI/CD (AWS, Azure, Github Actions, Terraform)
  • Experience with OpenAI

Full remote working is available for the role, however you are also welcome to work alongside the other team members here at our office in Lutterworth, located in the beautiful countryside (though you will need to be able to drive to reach the office).
