Job description

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Photographer with excellent photographic skills to join our team.
This role will involve photographing many different types of school events, including; portraiture, sports, drama, music, candid/documentary “school life”, prize giving, special guest events and more. Some of these occasions are also recorded on video.
We attend each of our schools approximately 80 times each academic year to capture a comprehensive photo (and video) record of each child’s time at school.
You will be responsible for taking outstanding images that our schools and their families will cherish and use to remember this special time in their children’s lives.
We have a collection of mirrorless camera bodies and lenses that are available for you to use.
You’ll need to have the confidence to meet and build relationships with our customers independently.
To succeed in this position, candidates should have exceptional communication, computer and problem-solving skills. You should be resourceful, analytical, adaptable and organised with the ability to build rapport with our customers and team members.

Splaat Photo is an innovative, award-winning school event photography company. We create memories for families by capturing photos and videos of their children at school. At the end of each academic year, every student that we photograph will have a comprehensive record of their achievements, across multiple school activities.
We’ve been in business for 11 years and have won awards such as “Hertfordshire Business School - Best Growth Business” and “British Library - Innovating for Growth - Scale Up”.
Responsibilities
- Capturing high-quality photographs that make our customers say “WOW”!
- Building a strong, positive relationship with the schools that we work with
- Ensuring that only children with consent to be photographed, are photographed (full training is provided)
Equipment Required
- Reliable access to your own car
- A laptop or desktop computer
- Adobe Lightroom
Skills
- A very good understanding of manual camera controls i.e. how shutter speed, aperture and ISO affect a photograph. This is very important since event photography is fast-paced and you’ll need to change settings quickly and competently
- Confidence to meet and interact with our customers independently and professionally
- A real passion for photography and a desire to be a successful photographer
- An enthusiastic and professional attitude
Remuneration

Hours of work
Regular and casual. We have approximately 700 school events scheduled to be photographed this academic year.
Location
We work with schools across the UK and are currently looking for Photographers based in West Sussex, Surrey, Buckinghamshire, London and Hertfordshire.
