Job description
We are a small, friendly, hardworking team looking to recruit a trainee clinical photographer. You will have either a Degree in photography with the expectation of obtaining a distance learning PGCert in Clinical Photography during the training period, or previous medical photography/relevant hospital experience with an expectation to work towards a graduate certificate in clinical photography. As this is a trainee post it falls under a Band 5, Annex 21 salary moving up to a permanent band 5 position on successful completion of the training period.
Within Portsmouth, we primarily provide a clinical service to two hospital sites although we also work at other hospitals as well. Therefore your own transport will be a requirement for this post. Following suitable induction and training, you need to be able to work independently and efficiently, with the ability to prioritise your own workload and manage your time effectively. You will also require excellent communication skills with the ability to talk to both patients and hospital staff at their level. In return we will offer you support to grow your talents and enhance your continuing professional development.
We also undertake PR and non-clinical photography so all round photographic skills are a must. We are in the process of developing a Medical Photography and Illustration video service within the Trust, and you will be expected to be a part of this new project.
