We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Bodleian Libraries as a Photographer in the Imaging Services department. We are a small but vibrant team working with many of the treasures held in the Bodleian Libraries, interacting closely with curators and other technical staff, to deliver the images produced via Digital Bodleian and our own Picture Library.
Using various imaging technologies, you will capture, process, archive and deliver images in digital formats. Material to be imaged will be primarily books and manuscripts held within the Bodleian Libraries.
You will need to exercise judgement in imaging unique items from a wide range of collections, maintaining accuracy and exercising care whilst carrying out each job. All activities will be carried out with due regard to the safety and preservation of the items being imaged. You will process the metadata of the images produced which will be permanently archived in the Imaging Services DAMS.
You will work as a team member within Imaging Services under the supervision of the Chief Photographer and Studio Manager.
This is a permanent, full-time position, working 36.5 hours per week.
This role will involve regular manual handling and lone working.
