Job description
The Philanthropy Officer is responsible for coordinating AXA XL’s global charitable giving and employee engagement programmes. You will manage the due diligence checks of AXA XL’s beneficiary nonprofits across UK, Europe, Americas and Asia Pacific, as well as deliver our annual volunteering day – the Global Day of Giving – which takes place across 29 countries and engages over 3,000 colleagues. The Philanthropy Officer will also coordinate our charitable giving and volunteering reporting, and work with other members of the Sustainability team to create new employee engagement initiatives.
You will be part of the global Sustainability team, based in London, with the option to work flexibly from home. You will report to the Social Impact Director

What will your essential responsibilities include?
- Managing the due diligence and vetting checks of AXA XL’s beneficiary nonprofits, as per our Global Charitable Giving Policy, including keeping comprehensive records of evidence and maintaining the due diligence log in an accurate and timely manner
- Managing the company’s annual day of service, the Global Day of Giving. This includes registration tool development and testing; recruitment, training and ongoing management of volunteer coordinators; target setting; internal/external communications; producing resources and guidance on volunteer project scope and management; and measuring and reporting impact
- Managing our Matching Gifts program and policy
- Coordinating our annual Community Investment Survey reporting to AXA Group, with support from the Sustainability Associate
- Supporting the Regional Grant program and Hearts in Action colleague-led committees with the Sustainability Programme Manager
- Supporting with the creation and implementation of colleague engagement programs, including our Skills for Good global volunteering programme and our VolunTree Heroes program
- Managing our disaster relief and preparedness partnerships, including communications and reporting of programmes and their impacts
- Devising new initiatives to better incentivize, engage, and recognize our global employee volunteers

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
- Good working knowledge of Corporate Social Responsibility/charitable partnerships
- Attention to detail and ability to keep clear and comprehensive records
- Confidence with coordinating a range of employee engagement programmes, including organizing activities, liaising with and motivating stakeholders, driving progress and measuring impact
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with a range of colleagues and external partners (charities, community organizations, and consultancies) and a creative approach in incentivising and recognising volunteering efforts
