Job description
A Pharmacy Cashier assists pharmacy staff by retrieving filled prescriptions, processing payments and handling other tasks. As a recognized patient-centered medical home (PCMH), every employee is responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of quality, comprehensive patient-centered care as a member of the patients care team. By performing the job expectations described below you will be an active member of the care team thereby patients are assured access to team-based, coordinated, comprehensive, quality care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to, the following)
Manage the phones and provide customer service by answering questions or addressing concerns for customers.- Log sales on cash register, process payments as well as bag prescriptions.
- Reconcile cash register drawers at the end of the shift.
- Ensure prescriptions given to patient are correct with respect to patient name along with address to confirm.
- Handle complete money properly and record all transactions accurately.
- Maintain and manage over-counter drug products, order and stock adequate inventory.
- Ensure to re-stock prescription stock bottles as directed by pharmacist.
- Support pharmacist as well as pharmacy technicians with pre-filling and vile-filling of prescriptions.
- Maintain competency level to answer patient's questions related to prescription plan advantages.
- Execute rules and regulations related to operational, administrative and professional written procedures and policies of pharmacy services.
- Participate actively in performance improvement.
- Identify, interpret, record and report risk management related issues.
- Comply with company safety along with hazardous materials policies.
- Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Possess a High School degree or GED, or be currently enrolled in High School
- Demonstrating data entry abilities
- Being proficient in MS Word and Excel
- Having some customer service experience
- Being able to stand on feet for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
- Proving basic quantitative abilities
- Pharmacy Experience Preferred
