Due to an internal promotion, we are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to lead our Procurement & Distribution team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the team, ensuring that all procurement and distribution activities are carried out in accordance with medicines legislation, professional, local and national guidelines. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing new procurement and distribution strategies, and for providing training and support to the team. - Overseeing and managing the Procurement and Distribution (P&D) service within the pharmacy and line managing the Specialist Pharmacy Technician for P&D and Higher-Level Technicians.
- You must ensure a safe, high quality patient centred P&D service. Leading the planning, development, monitoring, audit, evaluation, and delivery of the P&D service across the Trust.
- Ensuring that working practices meet requirements of medicines legislation, professional, local and national guidelines, implement change.
- Provision of professional leadership and management of all aspects of P&D services for all staff members. Management of regional and national contracts, ensuring departmental compliance andensuring appropriate training is provided.
- Promoting excellence within the P&D department and modelling behaviours of continuous learning and improvement to others .
- Providing technical leadership and assisting in the culture of learning within the department and to represent Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust (BHT) at regional and national level and participate in the wider strategic agenda for pharmacy technicians.
- Todeputise for the Responsible Person (RP) for duties relating to the department’sWholesale Distribution Authorisation(WDA). Supporting and leading elements of Cost Improvement Programmes (CIPs) through a cycle of local and regional tendering exercises and contract reviews.
