Job Description
-We have an exciting opportunity at our Ascot site for an Advanced Manufacturing Team Member to join a small, dedicated, multi-disciplined team working on delivering prototype samples of new and complex CVD diamond products.
You’ll need to be available to work 12-hour shifts across a '4 on, 4 off' days based rotating shift pattern.
The successful candidate will be involved in the safe, hands-on manufacture of products using a range of processing techniques including lapping, polishing, laser, Scaife as well as acid cleaning and measuring equipment.
The Advanced Manufacturing group will develop these first off items and transfer manufacturing to production as volumes increase and the process becomes fixed and capable.
The role will entail escalating any issues promptly, helping to find solutions to problems with safety, delivery, or quality.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Team Member to support new diamond products all the way from initial manufacture to production transfer as well as manufacturing complex products.
Duties & Tasks
- To directly manufacture first offs and specialist parts safely, to agreed timescale and quality with significant hands on involvement.
- Ensure full adherence to routings and processes, assisting with implementing and improving product routings and measurement reports
- Help optimise manufacturing to maximise efficiency and yield
- To read and correctly interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Help investigate and correct yield or quality issues where these occur
- Give updates on progress and issues during regular team meetings
- Document manufacture methods to ensure successful transfer of processes to production and capture lessons learned
- Ensure all orders are delivered within agreed timescales to specification.
- -Experience in precision and / or high value manufacturing environment QC processes and systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and willingness to expand existing skills and knowledge.
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced small team to adhere to customer delivery deadlines
- Ability to multitask across several different products in parallel
- Desire to apply existing knowledge to learn new manufacturing techniques and become a flexible, multiskilled hands on manufacturing Team Member.
- Familiarity with product drawings is required and desire to learn technical drawing is desirable
- Ability to communicate effectively within a team.
- Pro-active approach to overcoming challenges and ability to see projects through to completion.
