Job description
You will have a variety of duties within the department, involving the checking and booking in of Pharmaceutical Products and IV Fluids, supply to wards and departments within the Trust. As part of a team you will perform tasks such as visiting wards for the topping up service, picking stock from the pharmacy store, booking in returns, assisting with the reduction of waste and taking telephone requests from the wards. Full training will be provided in the department.
You will be working Monday to Friday and you will also participate in the weekend/Bank Holiday working rota.
No specific qualifications are necessary, however, experience of working in a pharmaceutical related or hospital environment would be an advantage, but not essential as full training will be given. You will undertake training to gain an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services. You will have a friendly and approachable personality and a willingness to learn.

1. Assist in the accurate receipt, storage, supply, issue and distribution of stock pharmaceuticals, including intravenous fluids, to wards and departments within the Trust, and external customers under SLA, from the Pharmacy Stores.
2. Accurately process pharmacy invoices on the third party service provider’sdatabase for authorisation by Finance, within the agreed timeframes.
3. Participate in the ward/department pharmacy top-up service ensuring accurate supply to agreed levels, and liaising with the technical staff/relevant pharmacist if any problems are encountered.
4. Help maintain the dispensaries and pharmacy stores in an organised and wellstocked condition, ensuring correct rotation and storage of stock.
5. Identify stock needing to be put into Robot, replenish stock, checking expiry dates over 6 months. Ensure correct output of stock items. Report any alarms/ problems on Robot to senior staff.
