Sawston Pharmacy is a busy community pharmacy within a CQC-rated "outstanding" Medical Practice.
We are seeking a friendly, conscientious pharmacy assistant with a genuine desire to help people.Experience is really helpful but not essential as training will be provided in line with the requirements of the General Pharmaceutical Council. It is essential though to be a tidy, organised worker and to care for our patients so that we provide them with great customer service.
Job Summary:
The purpose of the role is to:
- Provide an excellent service to pharmacy customers by ensuring that the sales area is clean, tidy and well stocked at all times
- Offer general assistance to the pharmacy team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
- Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way
- Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the pharmacy
- Facilitate effective communication between patients and members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies
- Promote healthy living to patients and customers
Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the pharmacy team may include any or all of the items in the following list. Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the Pharmacist/Pharmacy Manager, dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels:
- Taking accurate messages and passing on information
- Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures
- Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team members and associated healthcare agencies and providers
- Taking accurate payments for prescriptions and over the counter sales
- Assisting in managing the repeat prescriptions service
- Ensuring excellent level of stock control, updating the EPOS till system, identifying any low stock of new stock lines that have been requested by customers
- General upkeep of cleanliness of the pharmacy shelves and ensuring stock prices are current
- Using SytmOne to add patient INR results and to look up patient prescriptions
- Any other duties as advised by the line manager
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Salary: £11.42 per hour
