Pharmacy@QEHB Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary company of University Hospitals Birmingham, which was established in 2011. We provide a pharmacy service for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB) and Heartlands Hospital Birmingham (BHH).
We provide a service to the out-patients and in-patients, due to be discharged, at both hospitals and operate in a manner akin to a community pharmacy
We are currently recruiting for dispensers to join our teams at each of the two sites. It is essential that applicants have achieved at least NVQ level 2 in pharmacy services, have relevant community or hospital pharmacy experience in a busy dispensary and will deliver unrivalled customer service.
This is a unique opportunity to support the delivery of care at the hospital in our automated pharmacies.
Newly qualified pre-registration technicians are welcome to apply. We offer an excellent environment within which to develop your clinical skills for a move into a medicines optimisation role within primary or secondary care.
Main duties, tasks & skills required
Accurately dispense clinically checked prescriptions against the relevant prescription documentation; contribute to the management of pharmacy stock; ensure clinically and accuracy checked prescriptions are handed to patients, and maintain accurate patient medication records. At all times work collabartively with other dispensing assistants and with guidance and supervision from the Responsible Pharmacist and Pharmacy Manager
