Pharmacy Delivery Driver
Nottingham
We’re seeking a experienced and hardworking Pharmacy delivery driver to help us provide a delivery service to our patients over Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire. You will be part of a team of 10 drivers who provide medication from our 3 dispensaries- Nottingham City Hospital, Nottingham Treatment Centre and Queens Medical Centre.

Salary: £11.72 per hour on weekdays + mileage is reimbursed at a rate of 49p per mile

We’re looking for caring and compassionate drivers to deliver these hospital medicines directly to patients’ homes.
We started our delivery service in March 2020, at the beginning of the pandemic, many patients were vulnerable and we wanted to keep as many people at home so they didn’t have to come into hospital to collect their medicines. The delivery service we provide has been positively recognised by our service users and therefore it is something we want to keep in place.
As a Pharmacy Delivery Driver you will work flexibly, helping out on busy days and providing cover when other members of the team are unavailable. You will make deliveries from Queens Medical Centre to homes on multi-drop routes across Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire during the daytime on weekdays and weekends.
You will need to have good driving, navigation and customer service skills. Previous experience in healthcare is not required.
You will also be put onto a nationally recognised pharmacy delivery driver course where you will learn the essential of pharmacy practice, delivering a good service to customers, working as part of a team, health and safety and medicines in transit
Requirements of the role:
1. Your own van or car which is
a. Suitably insured for this activity
b. In good working order with valid MOT
c. Clean, tidy and looks professional
2. Your own navigation equipment
3. Current Driving licence held for at least 3 years with no more than 3 points and no bans within the last 5 years.
4. Standard DBS required. For a quick start, applicants who have a current subscription to the DBS Update Service may be prioritised.
5. Physically able to load vehicle with up to 30 packages and make multiple calls on each route.
You will be responsible for maintain and insuring your own vehicle.
You may be offered work between 8am and 8pm and you may travel up to 3,000 miles per month, depending on the amount of work that is agreed with you.
