Overall Purpose of the Job

To ensure that all Cased Hole Logging data analysis activities are performed in a professional, efficient, safe and cost-effective manner to the complete satisfaction of the customer while ensuring adherence of processes and procedures related to analyse, process, deliver and safeguard clients’ data.

Key Activities and Accountabilities

  • Ensure that all Cased Hole Logging data analysis activities are performed in a professional, efficient, safe and cost effective manner to the complete satisfaction of the customer.
  • Establishing and ensuring adherence of processes and procedures related to analyse, process, deliver and safeguard clients’ data.
  • Identify areas for improvement.
  • To maintain close liaison with operations department to support service delivery planning by contributing with inputs to logging programs for the relevant services.
  • To identify and exploit any opportunity for expansion and development of Cased Hole Logging Operations business.
  • To maintain close liaison at all times with Clients or their representatives.
  • To support operations department with technical advisory and when required while attending meetings with clients.
  • To ensure that a high-quality service is offered to our clients on all occasions.
  • To maintain active participation in improving the quality and HSE management system and bring to the attention of senior management any HSE issues that requires their attention.
  • To actively participate in promoting Expro services by writing and issuing case studies and papers as required.

Job Knowledge and Qualifications

The candidate should be able to demonstrate, with examples as appropriate, a good understanding of the below topics:

  • Cased hole logging tools: Strong knowledge of pulsed nuclear tools including the principles and physics of operation. Appreciation of tool variation between vendors. Specific knowledge of saturation logging tools is a requirement.
  • Tool application considerations across a wide range of geological settings and fluid and environmental condition variations.
  • Analysis of open hole log data with integration of other well data and information.
  • Familiar with core and core analysis data
  • Fundamentals of different displacement and recovery processes.
  • Well intervention job design and planning for cased hole logging surveillance operations
  • Fundamentals of well design & construction – drilling basics/muds/casing/liners/cementing, etc.
  • Completion design types and implications with respect to logging operations.
  • Basic well performance considerations– lift curves / well pressures and temperatures / production & injection testing.
  • Coherent presentation of surveillance information, derived problem identification and solution options to end users / Operator clients.
  • Candidate should have experience with most of the above topics with specific experience in Saturation logging. Ideally the candidate will have worked in a cased hole logging and well surveillance role(s) where well log, well engineering, reservoir/fluid and geological considerations have been integrated to provide remediation/operational recommendations.
  • A relevant degree in geoscience or engineering is preferred.
