Job description
We are looking for an incredibly dedicated type of person to join us at Holty Paws working in our team of self-employed subcontractors giving amazing dog walks, on a part-time basis. We have built a reputation for giving the best in care to the dogs and other pets we are asked to look after by our clients, and we are looking for highly committed individuals who share our passion.
Our clients depend on us to walk their dogs when they aren't able to so you must be totally reliable and a good communicator.
You must have a full driving licence, a fully insured car that is capable of transporting 4 dogs (we do NOT use crates) with up-to-date tax and MOT, and you must be prepared for both you and your car to get very muddy and wet. This work will be outdoors in all weathers.
You’ll be mainly involved in delivering our dog walking service but from time to time there may be the option to be involved in home visits & bespoke pet care services, outside of the core hours, too, if this appeals to you.
Your main working hours will be between 9:30 am and 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday. The current requirement is for you to complete two group walks of 4 dogs each per day to cover our core time slots which are 10:00 am -12:00 pm and 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm. Weekend work may also be available from time to time for those that want it.
We will give you one-to-one training, shadowing an established team member until you are fully confident to take responsibility for the pets under your care. You will have to complete an animal pet first aid course and take a basic DBS-check, both at your own expense.
About You -
Obviously, you must LOVE animals of all shapes and sizes, working with Holty Paws is about more than just loving animals; it is about engaging with them and interacting on dog walks, and enriching their lives, delivering all this with a happy, caring, positive, ‘can do’ approach.
The work WILL be challenging, both physically, mentally and emotionally at times so you MUST be resilient and although we are always on hand to support and advise you, we need someone who is able to think on their feet to ensure the welfare of the dogs and the public at all times. Owners must feel completely confident entrusting their pets to us, knowing they will be well cared for. Whilst you are working, your focus will entirely be on the animals under your charge.
Naturally, you must be physically fit and happy to work outdoors in absolutely all weather conditions. You will also need excellent time-keeping skills and a positive, happy disposition.
We want to know why you think you'd be the perfect fit to join our team so let us know when you apply.
We will only respond to those applicants who show they are serious about this work and who successfully present themselves as good candidates.
