Job description

DogWalk is seeking a passionate and reliable Pet Sitter to join our dedicated team. We're a fast-growing pet service company in Stratford upon Avon that values the joy and comfort our furry friends bring to our lives.

Compensation:

Pay is per job, based on the specifics of each assignment. Pet sitters can expect to earn between £20-£35 per night, depending on the requirements of each pet sitting job (number of pets, specific care needs, etc.).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide care for pets at the client's house, which may include feeding, watering, playing with the pets and cleaning up after them.
  • Take dogs on regular walks, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
  • Administer any necessary medication as instructed by the pet owners.
  • Monitor the pets for any unusual behaviour or symptoms, and report back to the pet owners or a veterinarian.
  • Maintain a clean and healthy environment for the pets.
  • Be responsive and communicative with pet owners about their pet's wellbeing.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with pets, preferably in a professional setting.
  • Knowledge of different breeds of dogs and cats, their behavioural traits, and care needs.
  • Ability to handle pets of varying sizes and temperaments.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
  • Flexibility to occasionally accommodate short-notice requests.
  • CPR and First Aid certification for pets is a plus.
  • DBS Check: All candidates must have a current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or be willing to undergo a DBS check.
  • Insurance: Candidates must hold their own public liability insurance. This is crucial for the protection of both the pet sitter and the client.
  • Self-Employment: Candidates should be self-employed and responsible for their own taxes. This role is on a contractual basis and does not offer benefits typically associated with full or part-time employment.

This part-time role offers an excellent opportunity to earn additional income while caring for animals. You'll often work in varying environments and have the chance to build meaningful relationships with both pets and their owners. Although short-notice requests might come up, our team respects your personal schedule and commitments, meaning you're never obliged to take a job that doesn't suit you.
