Job description
Please note that if you do not have or are not currently studying for an animal care qualification, you will not be considered for the position.
We need someone to fill a part time (possibility of up to 32hrs) with at least level 1 animal care diploma or equivalent, you must be happy and confident with all aspects of animal care, including reptiles and invertebrates.
Some previous experience in retail and aquatic knowledge would be good but not essential as on the job training will be provided.
General daily tasks are
- Cleaning out enclosures and feeding animals
- Serving customers (giving advise and using the till and answering the shop phone)
- Stocking shelves and noting down any out of stock items
- General cleaning (Dusting shelves and hoovering)
- Unpacking and pricing incoming orders
Being a small, all get on well and are looking for someone with a good sense of humour who will also have a good work ethic and is reliable therefore own means of transport is desirable.
Although the position is part time there will be the option to do extra hours for things like holiday cover.
