Job description
Pipe Hayes Farm is a small high quality full livery yard. We are located in Draycott-in-the-Clay, Derbyshire DE6 5BY.
We are looking for a person to help us on Wednesdays and Saturdays and occasional holiday/sickness cover, to help us to provide the best service we can seven days a week.
This person must be confident around horses and enjoy working with them.
A typical day would comprise the following:
- Mucking out boxes/waters/hays
- Preparing and handling horses for bring in and turnout, to include rugging and cleaning legs/picking out feet/checking for injuries etc
- Putting up hays/haylage
- Field management: Poo picking/waters/fencing and general care and maintenance
- Other yard duties to include: Muck heap maintenance; sweeping; tidying; feed bowl cleaning; tack cleaning
- Riding: schooling and hacking; and horse care eg bathing, clipping / trimming
You must love horses, not just go through the motions, and it is very important that you fit in with us. We understand that you may have some other commitments to fit around and we are happy to work with these provided you give us as much notice as possible.
