Salary: Cheshire East Council NJC Pay Scale, Grade 7 £27,344 to £30,151

We’re looking for a highly motivated, committed and experienced HR professional. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, while also having the patience, consistency and attention to detail to follow rigorous procedures through to completion.
You will have an appreciation of human resources best practice, including pay policies and payroll systems and procedures. Practical experience in these areas would be desirable, but is not essential.
You will be one of two Personnel and Payroll Administrators working closely with our Personnel Manager. You will be supporting a workforce of over 250, comprised of teaching, support and casual colleagues.
Purpose of Post
To work as part of a wider team in ensuring effective, efficient, accurate and safe systems across the personnel and professional learning function of the school. To provide administrative support for a number of important school functions including but not exclusive to:
· Contracts
· Payroll
· Recruitment
· Employment checks
· Maintenance of the single central record
· Attendance management
· Staff training
· Professional learning

Personnel Manager
Principal Duties
To work as part of a team in:
Efficient, effective and accurate management of contracts including:
· drafting and amending contracts
· issuing contracts
· completion of contracts including signing, reviewing and updating
· management of documentation
Efficient and accurate salary administration in a timely manner to meet scheduled submission and payroll deadlines including:
· ensuring all staff are paid in accordance with School and County policies and procedures and with employment legislation
· in respect of new appointments, contract changes and leavers
· ensuring any changes or adjustments to salary for staff including as a consequence of annual Teacher Performance Appraisal Review
· issuing salary statements
· processing pay claims
· managing payroll queries
· acting as liaison between staff and the school’s contracted payroll provider.
Efficient, effective and safe administration of a complete recruitment service, including:
· advertising, collating and issuing post details
· administrative support for the shortlisting process
· contacting short-listed candidates, and ensuring the effective operation of designated selection procedures
· appointing casual staff
Efficient, effective and safe administration, completion and monitoring of all pre-employment checks, including:
· qualifications, reference checks, Prohibition Register, medical and UK eligibility.
· DBS procedures (including the Update Service and overseas checks)
· providing advice regarding to pre-employment checks
· keeping updated of changes to pre-employment checks
· seeking and taking advice from relevant sources where appropriate
Efficient, effective and safe administration, completion and monitoring of all checks related to onsite safety, including for visitors, volunteers, casual workers and school staff
Efficient, effective and accurate administration of staff attendance records for payroll purposes including:
· attendance and sickness records
· return to work forms
· statutory sick pay
· holiday, time in lieu and absence without pay
· attendance and staffing reports
Efficient, effective and safe administration of other relevant personnel functions as required.
Administration of key professional learning functions
To work as part of a team in:
Efficient, effective and accurate administration of staff training including:
· BlueSky Education
· Staff safeguarding training
· Staff training programmes including inset
Efficient, effective and accurate administration of professional learning activities including:
· Performance management processes
· Staff induction
· Initial Teacher Training
· Early Career Framework
· National Professional Qualifications
Personal assistance to personnel and professional learning activities
To work as part of a team in:
Efficient, effective and confidential management of staff personnel records
Informing and advising on personnel and professional learning matters in order to facilitate decision making
Undertaking project and research work, both ad-hoc and ongoing in order to develop the personnel and professional learning infrastructure of the school
Administrative support for investigations and complaints
To provide personal assistance to personnel and professional learning activities
Administration of key safeguarding functions
To keep accurate and up to date records for the Single Central Record for OFSTED purposes.
In addition to the above:
To ensure that information on the SIMS information system – personnel module is up-to-date and fit for purpose
To undertake routine duties (such as reception work) as necessary to ensure the provision of a quality service for the school.
