SUMMARY
STRIVE is looking for a dynamic trainer to assist with serving individuals in their Career Path program. The Career Path program offers occupational skills training, career coaching, job placement assistance, and lifetime services. START focuses on attitude, accountability, personal responsibility, workplace ethics, professional etiquette, and interpersonal skills. The STRIVE Start program will help individuals land jobs and build careers. This is a in-office position, employees must be vaccinated against COVID.
Requirements:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for Curriculum & Workshop Facilitation.
- Using a structured and approved curriculum, conduct regular comprehensive sessions of career advancement training to prepare learners with multiple barriers to employment for entry to mid-level jobs in construction & healthcare.
- Training topics include but are not limited to interviewing skills, resume and cover letter creation, social media profiles, job search, networking strategies, customer service training, workplace success strategies, career advancement training, and business communications.
- Design supplementary curriculum to better meet learner and employer training needs
- As needed, facilitate workshops and individual coaching sessions with learners who need additional support.
- Ability to engage and train diverse learners including youth, adults, reentry populations, custodial and non-custodial parents.
- Work closely with the Business Development team to assist in meeting or exceeding key performance indicators/goals.
- Serve as the first point of contact for learner questions and issues within the career readiness curriculum.
- Ensure timely and accurate data management in our data management system.
- Participate in student case conferences, learner progress meetings with other members cross departmental.
- Ensure quality and timely uploading of learner resumes.
- Oversee student attendance and performance policies and manage communication with students not meeting program requirements.
- Accompany learners to corporate engagement site visits, mock interviews, networking events as needed.
- Work collaboratively with the wellness team to ensure students receive services as needed to be successful in the program.
- Manage completion results against performance goals.
- Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) by adding curriculum, assessments, and report progress on students.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned by manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor degree and/or Minimum of two (2) years of experience in job readiness, or workforce development or education required.
- Ability to interact energetically and positively with a variety of personalities and socio-economic populations and to maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge of the local labor market, successful workforce development strategies, and employer requirements.
- Act as an example of professionalism to participants by dressing appropriately, and always starting on time.
- Convey relevant information about the program to the participants, funders, visitors, and STRIVE staff.
- Provides one-on-one support to participants to address their motivation, emotional stability, and job readiness skills.
- Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, Teams, and Zoom.
- Must have high energy with excellent administrative, communication, interpersonal, and, presentation skills.
- Must be flexible and able to assess the needs of the client and have the ability to keep calm and reason during stressful situations.
- Bilingual speaking abilities are a plus.
- Workforce development experience with a specific background in job readiness coaching, or education.
- Ability to demonstrate youth development principles in learning as well as adult learners.
- Demonstrated experience in classroom training and understanding principles of classroom management.
- You are not afraid to make tough decisions or have tough conversations with students.
- You are data-driven, results-oriented, and forward-looking for helping to empower individuals to change their economic trajectory.
- You are patient and a resourceful thinker.
- LMS system experience a plus but will train.
