Job Title: Personal Shopper
Reports To: Head of Personal Shopping
Based At: Bicester Village
The team of Personal Shoppers create an unrivalled, personalised shopping experience in the Village surrounded by leading international luxury brands. They understand luxury fashion and lifestyle, and use this to provide a bespoke service within The Apartment that meet and exceed the guest’s expectations.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Personal Shoppers are expected to deliver “an above and beyond” bespoke experience to each guest to help them with their shopping requirements. They are available to recommend product using their in-depth knowledge from the range of international brands within the Village that is suitable and meets the client’s needs, often introducing brands/items that the client would never have viewed if shopping alone.
The Personal Shopper will need to ensure they are delivering a high quality of customer service to all clients and continually seeking to expand their client list, whilst partnering with brands to assist in increasing their sales.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Bring and develop their own Personal Shopping client base by nurturing existing clients, introduce new clients and support colleagues as well as getting referrals
- Organize VIP visits to the Village
- Offer clients styling advice, introduce new products and brands.
- Listen and gain an understanding of the clients current clothing options and be confident in suggesting clothing and accessory options that the client may never have thought of.
- Find ways to build loyal client relationships and communicate with the clients preferred form of communication.
- To detect opportunities for collaboration, sponsorship and presence of the Village with institutions and agencies as well as events directed to the HNW.
- Suggest gifting options to their clients throughout the year, be proactive in helping them with their shopping requirements
- Be proactive in staying ahead with fashion trends and the luxury fashion industry.
- Maintain accurate and clear client profiles so all activity is recorded and can be reported on.
- Support the Personal Shopping Manager by suggesting new business opportunities for small group client engagement.
- Provide regular informative feedback to the Personal Shopping Manager on product and service in store direct from the client.
- Build close relationships with the brands by visiting the stores to ensure up to date availability of stock, brand understanding, offers and campaigns to support guests needs and drive sales.
- Attend brand training sessions to continually increase their brand/product knowledge.
- Responsible for their personal/team sales targets and meet their other objectives.
- Act as an ambassador in the business to represent Personal Shopping and the service level offered, this will be through developing beneficial respectful working relationships with all colleagues of Value Retail and across the brand partners.
THE CANDIDATE:
- At least 6 years’ experience working in sales for a luxury retail brand.
- Previous Personal Shopping experience essential within a luxury retail brand.
- Previous experience of nurturing and developing Junior Personal Shoppers.
- A genuine interest in delivering “an above and beyond” level of service is essential, together with a thorough understanding of the luxury consumer and a sympathetic approach to their needs and expectations.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of current international fashion trends, designers, products and a good sense of what styles suit clients.
- Confident using social media to support client contact and increasing sales.
- Has a strong network and an existing client list “Black Book” (without off limit exclusions).
- Ability to engage and build client relationships (clienteling).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (a second language is advantageous).
- Strong team player, but also someone who can work on their own initiative.
- Good computer literacy skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.

- Good relationship builder with guests, colleagues and brands.
- A collaborative approach to team work, and a flexible working style is essential, together with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral).
- Patient, understanding and resilient.
- Possess good listening skills.
- Aware of cultural sensitivities who can flex their personal style to best service the client.
- Efficient, organised and able to plan their working day to accommodate their clients.
- Language skills an advantage.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
