CAWA Coffee is an independent coffee shop and lifestyle brand.

The retail team member position contributes to CAWA success by providing amazing customer service to all customers and offering a fantastic shopping experience. This job creates the CAWA Ambience for our customers by providing customers with prompt service, quality beverages and products, maintaining a clean and comfortable shop environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Note: Lower levels of this job may not be responsible for all of the duties listed.

  • Be the face and voice of CAWA, engage with our customers and offer a fantastic shopping experience.
  • Maintain a calm demeanour during busy times or unusual events and set a positive example to other team members.
  • Anticipate customer and shop needs by looking for cues from customers and environment and communicate information to shop supervisor or manager so that the team can respond as necessary and proactively enhance customer experience.
  • Follow CAWA operational policies and procedures, including those for shop opening and closing, cash handling, safety and security. Complete opening and closing checklists.
  • Prepare quality food and beverages consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
  • Deliver fast and friendly service. Operate the till, serve our customers, deliver food and drinks to customer tables and keep the tables clean.
  • Responsible for daily set up and maintenance of the coffee and food preparation equipment in the shop.
  • Keep shop clean and tidy.

STOCK MANAGEMENT

  • Receive daily and weekly deliveries, record and store them in accordance with health, safety and food management guidelines.
  • Monitor stock levels and communicate information to a shop supervisor or manager so that orders can be placed timely and in accordance with CAWA operating procedures.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Barista experience is a plus but full training will be provided to the right candidate.

Salary is based on age and will increase after training.

Salary: £8.00-£10.53 per hour
