Job description
Personal Care Assistants (PAs) required for night shifts in Woking (GU24)
£16.00 per hour Permanent contract
I’m a young disabled man living near Woking (GU24), looking for full time or part time PAs (Personal Assistants) for waking night shifts to double up with my existing night shift PAs. You would be joining my friendly supportive team who provide 24/7 care in my own home. The role includes complex health care and personal care.
You need to be reliable, patient, flexible and organised, and be able to fit into a physically active role. Previous care experience is required but you will also be given full specialist training and ongoing support from my team. Training courses are provided by Surrey Independent Living Charity and there is the opportunity to study for the Diploma in Health and Social Care.
Depending on the finish time of my day shift the night shift start time is either 18.15, 20.00 or 23.15, all finishing at 08.15. You would need to be available for any of those start times. You would have a regular rota issued 2-3 weeks in advance, but additional hours to cover annual leave or sickness are needed as part of the team, so ideally I need someone who can be flexible and is happy to cover extra hours when needed.
Pay rate is £16.00 per hour. Permanent contract, 28 days paid holiday pro rata and pension.
A full clean driving licence is required to drive my adapted vehicle.
About me: I am a friendly 38 year old disabled man living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. I enjoy music, cinema, seeing family and friends, Formula 1 and the local countryside.
