Personal Assistant Job Description
I am a lady in my 50s with a physical disability. I need a personal assistant to assist me in all areas of my personal, domestic and social life, both at home and in the community. I need someone with good cooking skills who is able to follow recipes and cook from scratch. You must be animal friendly as I have 3 cats and a small dog. Your role is to enable me to lead an individual and independent life in my own home.
You must be reliable, able to work flexible hours, you must respect my privacy and understand my need for confidentiality. You will work under my direction you are accountable to me and you should respond to my requests.
Personal Assistant Tasks
The work involves some or all of the following tasks. Some tasks will be daily, others weekly. As my needs vary, it is important that you are flexible about the work and agree to undertake other reasonable tasks.
Personal Requirements
· Assist with medication at 6pm
Domestic Needs
· General domestic duties
· General housework, including cleaning, dusting, hoovering
· Preparation and cooking of meals and drinks and clearing up
· Support with menu preparation/decisions
· Clean kitchen after cooking and sweep floor
· Changing of bed linen
· Laundry and ironing
· Shopping and/or assistance with shopping
· Assisting me to move around my home
General Assistance
· To help me with any chosen activity, inside or outside my home,
· Assist me into and out of my car/van
· Assist with getting to and taking part in social activities
Personal Assistant’s General Responsibilities
· Respect me
· Arrive at the agreed time, ready to work
· Must be flexible at short notice
· Give as much notice as possible if you are going to be late or can’t come
· Mobile phone to be used in extreme emergencies only
· Discuss any problems with me as soon as possible
· Respect my possessions /equipment and use them only with my consent.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 10 per week
Salary: £13.00 per hour
