We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant (PA) to provide support and companionship for our son with autism and learning disabilities. He resides with his parents in a family home. The primary responsibility of the PA will be to accompany and support my son during social activities on Thursday evenings, for a total of 4.5 hours per month, from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM.

Accompany to social activities, specifically a disco, where he can engage with others in a comfortable environment.

Provide emotional support and companionship, ensuring he feels safe and included during social interactions.
Assist in purchasing drinks or any other items he may need during the evening.
Be attentive to his needs and preferences, making sure he is comfortable and enjoying the experience.
Facilitate communication with others, as necessary, to enhance his social engagement.
Drive him to and from the disco venue, ensuring a safe and timely arrival.
Person specification
Essential:
Patience, empathy, and understanding of individuals with autism and learning disabilities.
Driving license holder with own vehicle and appropriate business insurance are essential for transportation to and from the disco.
Punctuality and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Previous experience in a similar role preferred

The rate of pay for this position is £11 per hour.
Hours and times of work: 4.5 hours per month, Thursday from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM.
The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
Free Care Skills Training provided to employed staff.
The rate of pay for this position is £11 per hour.
