Job Title: Personal Assistant/Care Assistant
Hours: 30 - 35 hours per week
Working Pattern: Set weekly rota. Shifts range from 7am to 5pm, 4pm to 10pm, occasional 7am -10pm. Double ups 9.15am-10.15am, 4pm-5pm and 8pm -9pm
Rates of Pay: £13.50 per hour, £18 per hour on bank holidays
Work Area/Location: Employers home address in Ware, Hertfordshire, SG12 area - must be local
Closing date - 03.07.2023
Responsible to: Directly to the employer
About the job:
You will be working in a family environment as part of a team who provide 24/7 care and support to a gentleman in his late 30’s who has an acquired brain injury. Communication skills are essential as communication plays a huge part in this role.
Main Tasks:
All elements of personal care
Moving and handling – including ceiling hoist use
Administering medication via PEG (training will be provided)
Communicating with the employer, you will need to lipread
Assisting the employer with what they need
Working as part of a team
General cleaning of the room and wet room
Person Specification:
Good communication skills, the ability to lipread or willingness to learn
Experience within a similar role is preferred but training will be provided
Must be able to commit to double up times (9.15am-10.15am, 4pm-5pm and 8pm -9pm) Ideally you will live locally
Be punctual, reliable and flexible
Must be honest and trustworthy
Establish a professional standard of care, which should be maintained at all times
Be prepared to undertake any training that may be required to meet the needs of the role
Ensure that due consideration is given to health and safety at all times
Respect and safeguard the goods and property of the employer
Respect privacy and uphold confidentiality at all times
If you use your car whilst working then you will require business use on your car insurance
