About me
I am a happy, young 19-year-old man with cerebral Palsy affecting all four limbs, severe dystonia with a profound learning disability. I am registered CVI blind, and I am nonverbal.
I have a wonderful family and two Personal Assistants who support me with my 24hour care needs. My team support me within the home, to access the community as well as supporting me with therapy needs. I live in my family home with my Mum, Dad, and siblings which I would like you to be respectful off, which will be returned by my family.
Could you be the person to support?
You will need to be a calm, reliable and flexible with a kind and happy approach.
I require 2:1 support as well as 1:1 as I have cerebral palsy with other complex needs which you will learn about.
You will be supported by the team and will get to know my unique set of requirements, covering all personal and medical care as well as support with daily living as well as simply getting to know me- at my own pace and supporting me in the community to continue to enjoy my interests. You will be required to get to know myself and the team- through meetings, shadowing, and a bespoke training programme. You will receive all mandatory training and specialised training annually.
Requirements of the Post:

· Experience: 2 years (preferred).
· Driver- Happy to drive a disability vehicle.
Salary: £12.50 per hour.
Bank holidays are paid at the standard hourly rate. Paid training. Employees are also able to join the Company Pension scheme after 3 months’ service, subject to the rules of the scheme, as well as our Cash Back Health Plan after completion of a successful probation period.
Hours: To be discussed at interview, hours of work can include working; days, evenings and weekends– across 7- day week pattern by arrangement, Mon- Sun.
Flexibility: Additional hours to cover holidays at four week’s notice and sickness as required. Training: An excellent training package is available to ensure you are trained to the highest standards. In addition, we offer continuous professional development. Working as part of the Solo Support Services organisation will also mean that you are part of a supportive company who promote person centred practice.
