Personal Care Assistant (PA)/Support Worker

About me:
Young female adult with chromosome syndrome which includes LD, autism and epilepsy.
Hours and rate of pay:
8 hours daytime on Fridays – 10am to 5pm £14.80 per hour gross
Location:
Based in Borehamwood with activities in the community across Hertfordshire and London.
DBS/Checks:
Confirmation of DBS check
Right to Work and references will be needed.
Training:
Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:
- Safeguarding Adults
- Introduction to first aid
- Health and Safety
What you would be doing…
Support out in the community at activities, sometimes during medical appointments and whilst at home with some personal care including prompting and supervision.
The person I would like…
Car driver required. Own roadworthy vehicle and appropriate business use insurance preferred.
Previous/ relevant experience supporting adults with LD/ autism. Epilepsy training including the administration of emergency medication (Buccal midazolam). Health and safety training, first aid training and safeguarding.
One PA required. However, person will work with another support/ PA initially during trial period and if on longer day trips.
Someone with relevant knowledge/ experience supporting adults with LD, autism, anxiety and epilepsy. Someone who is reliable, sensible and calm.
Someone who can work independently and also take direction and work within existing support team. Someone who can be flexible around start and end times occasionally would be helpful.
