West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust is a large acute trust providing hospital services to around half a million people living in Hertfordshire, north London and further afield. We run services across three hospitalsat Watford, St Albans and Hemel Hempstead.

What you’ll be responsible for:

· To manage workload on a day-to-day basis within agreed Trust policies and procedures.

· To support the aligned Executive Assistant to prioritise and handle the workload coming into the Business Support Team.

· To organise, plan the diary and assist with workload commitments for any supported team members.

· Co-ordinate the administration of agreed meetings, including the collation of papers and minute taking in line with Trust standards.

· Liaise with others across the IBT to prepare reports, briefings and meeting papers.

· Assist the supported staff members with the sourcing of information and handling of correspondence and workload priorities to ensure deadlines are met.

You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You’ll have the following skills/experience:

· Excellent communication skills- both verbal and written

· Microsoft office skills- Outlook, Word, and Excel

· Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

· Previous minute taking and diary management skills

· Experience of preparation of reports and taking of meeting notes and producing action trackers, together with preparing agendas and distribution of associated papers

· Experience in drafting correspondence for approval

· Experience of arranging complex conferences/seminars and large meetings

· Experience of organising travel and accommodation requirements
