Personal Assistant Dunoon, Scotland

ENABLE SCOTLAND - LTW
Full Time Dunoon, Scotland 10.9 GBP HOURLY Today
Job description

DUNOON

30 HOURS A WEEK

Are you interested in working for an award winning social care charity?

Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within ENABLE Scotland by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone with a learning disability to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be!

Each person we support has different support needs, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.

The Best in You Brings Out the Best in Me

The people we support have many varied interests and hobbies and have many of the same dreams and aspirations as we do; they just too often do not get the opportunity to experience these same opportunities. A career with ENABLE Scotland is as rewarding as it is diverse, Personal Assistants at their best have the potential to truly bring out the best in the people we support.

Let us introduce you to Arthur, Tommy and Polly:

Arthur loves being outdoors, going for walks (especially on those rare sunny days in Scotland) and just being as generally active as possible. A typical day could be going to have a wander around his local community, doing arts and crafts, watching sports or listening to music.

Tommy enjoys going for shorter walks, drives in his car and deconstructing his puzzles. He also likes to spend time at the local leisure facilities using the swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna.

Polly also enjoys the outdoors on nice days and for her surroundings to be calm and quiet. Polly likes to be pampered and to take part in relaxing activities such as spa treatments.

Arthur, Tommy & Polly receive support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Waking hours are usually between the hours of 8am and 11pm with staff also undertaking some sleepover duties. Arthur stays on his own and Tommy & Polly are flatmates so the ability to work on your own and also with other staff is important.

Arthur, Tommy and Polly need you! Will you bring your best so that they live their best lives?
