Job description
Located in David Chipperfield Architects’ London office, Group DC – the office of the practice founder, Sir David Chipperfield – is looking for an experienced administrator to join their team. The PA role is central in providing wide ranging administrative support globally to the group offices in London, Milan, Berlin, Shanghai, Santiago de Compostela and Fundación RIA.
We are looking for someone who enjoys the day-to-day variety of tasks that comes with being a PA whether it be administration, travel or diary management focused. The role would suit someone that enjoys working independently, is a confident communicator and who enjoys collaborating at all levels and who thrives in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
Key duties include:
General Admin Support: Maintaining and organising systems to ensure accuracy of information, managing post, responding to RSVPs, and electronic filing and folder management.
Travel Management: The PA role will handle personal travel for David Chipperfield and his family members as well as the Group DC team. As a global practice and in a post Covid world, travel strengthens our ability to design on the world stage by building strong and lasting connections with others. The PA role enables this to happen, ensuring that all travel whether in Europe or internationally is organised and is a smooth process from start to end, from taxi pickups to the moment of arrival.
Diary Preparation: The PA role will manage effective organisation of Group DC meetings and diary management to ensure that time is spent where needed most. Clear forward planning, thinking one step ahead to mitigate any potential hurdles and ensuring that those involved in meetings are appropriately briefed and prepared for meetings is a central part of the PA role.
Applicants should be confident, organised and proactive, with several years of administrative support experience, a passion for getting all the details right and ideally strong experience booking travel and managing diaries. Fluency in English is essential. Applicants should be skilled in the use of Outlook Diaries and ideally have interest in art and architecture.
