Performance Marketing Manager role, based at Holiday House in Leeds City Centre
The Performance Marketing Manager plays a vital role in Jet2’s Digital Marketing team and is responsible for managing a team of experienced specialists who oversee Paid Social, Display, Aggregators & Affiliates.
This role is responsible for co-ordinating campaign planning and delivery with our in-house team of specialists to deliver against daily and monthly targets. You will also manage relationships with media partners and in-house teams and play an active role in developing the broader Digital Marketing strategy. This role will work across all Jet2 brands including Jet2holidays, Jet2.com, Jet2CityBreaks, Jet2Villas, Indulgent Escapes & Vibe.
What will you do in the role?
- Set the strategic direction for Paid Social, Display, Aggregators & Affiliates; and take ownership of key initiatives across all channels. You will use your expert knowledge of this rapidly evolving field to identify new opportunities to improve our digital marketing maturity across all Jet2 Brands.
- This role will be a highly visible one, so you will be required to confidently create executive level communications, updates, and reporting for key stakeholders and Performance Marketing leaders within the business.
- You will have strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of managing a teams of skilled digital marketing specialists. A big part of this role will be supporting our in-house team of specialists with progression and providing mentorship, setting development plans and objectives for the team which are aligned with overall business plans.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure paid campaigns are fully integrated and aligned with business requirements and marketing strategy. Support, develop, and manage relationships with key external partners, always providing recommendations to drive efficiencies across all channels.
- Manage short term, reactive campaign requirements to drive and deliver tactical deliverables whilst also ensuring plans align to longer term growth objectives.
- Forecast and manage budget effectively, seeking efficiencies and growth opportunities across all channels within your remit, whilst also considering the impact on the wider marketing strategy and deliverables.
- Drive and encourage commercial awareness and take a balanced approach to commercially considering the wider impact of decisions made
- Stay abreast of new platform developments and encourage the usage and testing of new platform features, alphas, and betas as these become available.
- Ensure tracking and analytics processes are setup and fully adhered to when implementing campaigns and run regular and ad-hoc reporting to create engaging reports and presentations for senior stakeholders
- Plan and deliver an effective roadmap for the year ahead and manage key partnerships while seeking opportunities to onboard new platforms and drive growth. This will include building strong relationships with our media partners such as Google (YouTube), Meta, Skyscanner, TripAdvisor, Ice Travel Group, Kayak and AWIN; creating joint-partnership plans to track progress throughout the year. You will also take ownership of contract reviews and negotiations, identifying and implementing SLA’s and WoW to support business requirements, and managing ongoing supplier relationships to maximise the value of relationships.
- Responsible for developing creative best practice and strategy across Performance Marketing channels, driving consistency and creative thinking across the teams and all channels, using data and insight to drive creative thinking and implementation.
- Responsible for implementing creative review and approval processes, ensuring all Performance Marketing messaging and creative meets brand requirements, working with Creative Services and Content teams to embed data driven creative approach to Performance Marketing assets.
- Strong focus on inspiring ideas; clear briefs & plans; strong execution and insightful post campaign evaluation and performance reporting.
- This role will work hand in hand with the Paid Search team for an integrated performance approach; as well as collaborating with other digital disciplines across the Marketing team to drive cohesive and effective plans and strategy – including Brand & Advertising, Integrated Marketing, Creative Services, Web Analytics, Data Engineering and Data Science.
- This role will also support on strategic projects and initiatives outside of channel management, which will enable the Performance Marketing team to improve marketing effectiveness across channels such as Reporting, Tracking, Measurement and Privacy.
What are the key skills / experience you’ll already have?
- Strong background managing at least one of the channels which will be involved in this role. It is not a requirement to have experience across all channels.
- Proven track record of managing multi-million-pound Paid Media accounts.
- Working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders with the ability to be agile when faced with change.
- Possess strong leadership qualities, with experience managing a team of specialists and be seen as the go-to person within the team.
- Have a positive, can-do attitude and remain calm under pressure.
- Strategic, forward thinker, with the ability to think outside the box and challenge the status quo.
- You have experience building out digital marketing strategies and overseeing their delivery with attention to detail and an inquisitive approach.
- Experience on the following platforms would be advantageous but is not a requirement: Google Ads, DV360 (or similar DSPs) Meta, Smartly, AWIN, GA360/GA4, BrandVerity, SimilarWeb and Feed Management Tools such as Products Up.
