About the role
The Performance Marketing team supports all three sides of our marketplace to deliver growth of our business globally, whether that's getting a consumer to give us a try for the first time, acquiring new riders when we open up in a new location, or talking to potential restaurant partners about the value that Deliveroo can bring them. We've built a world class team to deploy our marketing budget across multiple digital channels. We collaborate with our product and tech teams to automate processes and analyse performance to ensure we're making the right decisions every day to take us forward.
We're looking for a commercially minded, data-driven Performance Marketing Director to lead the operational management of our global team, taking accountability for budget setting, delivery against targets and scaling new and existing channels by pursuing a rigorous test and learn agenda. You will report into the VP Marketing and will offer hybrid working between home and our London HQ.
What you'll be doing
- Develop a world class performance marketing team. Line manage a team of experienced subject matter experts & marketing managers across all paid channel disciplines.
- Work with central and local Finance & Strategy teams to set budgets, support management of P&L and ensure we're achieving our targets throughout the year. Manage performance vs targets.
- Empower your teams to be autonomous, unblock obstacles, but ensure they are focused on working towards a collective goal.
- Promote a culture of experimentation, iteration and new ideas. Ask difficult questions and get to the bottom of challenges.
- Work with media partners to unlock new opportunities, develop long-term partnership plans and ensure that the support we receive aligns to our goals.
- Communicate performance and future plans to a wide range of senior leadership at both a central and local level.
- Work with product, engineering and data sciences teams to build scalable solutions to performance marketing challenges.
- Manage a T&L agenda that aims to drive new incremental growth opportunities on top of our baseline.
Requirements
- Experience managing large performance marketing budgets
- Extensive hands on, operational experience and knowledge of channels such as Search, App, Social, Display and Video, Affiliates
- Experience of running and developing a high performing performance marketing team
- Experience of working with multiple geographies
- Ability to simplify complexity and communicate clearly to senior non-subject matter experts
- Experience working with cross functional teams
Preferred, but not required:
- Experience of managing an in-house team
- Experience in app marketing
- Marketplace experience
